It was Ken Shimura’s own show, produced by Izawa Office. ‘Shimuraya Desu’ has been revamped as ‘Shimura-ken’! Centred on Ken Shimura, the owner of ‘Ken-chan Ramen’—a small ramen shop in a working-class neighbourhood—and his wife Yuka, the programme features Ryuhei Ueshima, a lazy bloke who visits the shop every day, Katsuhiro Higo, the owner of ‘Poem’—a Showa-era-style coffee shop opposite Ken-chan Ramen— his wife Haruna Kondo, and Haruka Minowa, a part-timer at Poem with a vivid imagination.
