The first episode was broadcast on January 25, 1999, and was UPN's highest-rated comedy series premiere at that point in the network's history; it lasted two seasons on UPN and won a Primetime Emmy before its cancellation.

Years later the American-Canadian Trans-Continental Communications Company buys the rights to the series, and Bob is offered a chance to revive Mad-Dog.
